Religious Liberty Conference
Freedom of Belief Freedom of Action
On 19 & 20 October, the Sydney School of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia is holding a Freedom of Belief and Action conference. The conference will begin on Thursday evening with the School's Sixth Annual Religious Liberty Lecture which will delivered by Professor Rex Ahdar from Otago University in New Zealand. Rex is co-author of Religious Liberty in the Liberal State, now well into its second edition.
The full day conference on Friday will discuss subjects as diverse as the economic value of religion, the role of corporates in supporting social and political agendas, how the redefinition of marriage will interact with existing anti-discrimination law, and the Royal Commission's recommendation that Religious Confession Privilege should be scrapped in child abuse cases.
