Biography
Linda Davies is a Science Lecturer in the School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Notre Dame Australia, specialising in environmental management. She commenced at Notre Dame in late 2017, and her engaging and inspiring teaching style has motivated students to better manage environmental issues, principally those created by human actions. Since 2020 she has consistently received nominations from students for the Vice Chancellor's Teaching awards, being formally recognised in 2020 for initiatives that enhance student learning and in 2021 for teaching excellence.

Community Engagement
Linda is a very active member of the local community. As such she was appointed as a community representative on the Cockburn Sound Management Council in 2023 for her work in environmental monitoring and management.
Linda has attended and presented at numerous community gatherings and events regarding marine plastic pollution and the importance of robust monitoring. Examples of such activities for 2023 include:
- March 2023: Presentation at Murdoch University for the student led Climate Action Special Interest Group on the citizen science marine litter monitoring project.
- June 2023: Citizen science marine litter research project presentation to more than 30 community members at a World Ocean Day Event hosted by Ocean Remedy in Fremantle.
- July 2023: Provided a talk for 'The Sit' community members in Fremantle on the importance of the citizen science marine litter monitoring project.
- October 2023: Attended Sea Shepherd beach clean at Bathers Beach, Fremantle, and spoke about the importance of the data to monitor marine plastic pollution.
- November 2023: Presentation at Perth NRM Coastal Community Forum, Rockingham, on the citizen science marine litter monitoring project.
