Biography
My career objective has been to provide exemplary leadership in the teaching of high quality Outdoor Education in a stimulating and challenging environment for the direct benefit of students and to develop the profile of Outdoor Learning in the wider community. To continue to grow my deep knowledge of experiential education and to strive for innovative curriculum design and authentic assessment to develop students leadership potential.
I enjoy all outdoor pursuits, most recently I have begun trail running and have finished 3 half and 1 full marathon. My family and I spend time playing in the outdoors and often in the vegetable patch, I enjoy cooking the fruits of our labour. I enjoy reading, particularly in areas related to my field. Academically I have recently completed my Doctorate of Education and have developed further interest in the contributions outdoor learning can make to building resilience and wellbeing. Sometime in the future I intend to use my skills to build an Outdoor Learning Centre for students with disabilities.
