  • Biography

Corinne Kusel is a registered nurse with over 27 years of experience in the nursing profession. Since graduating in 1994, Corinne has made significant contributions to the field of rural and remote nursing. She spent a number of years working on the far west coast of South Australia, where she gained extensive experience in providing high-quality care to patients in challenging and remote environments. In recent years, Corinne has been employed as a staff development nurse at Fremantle Hospital, where she worked on both the dementia-specific ward and the renal ward. Her passion for nursing and her commitment to improving patient outcomes have been evident throughout her career. In 2011, Corinne joined the University of Notre Dame, School of Nursing and Midwifery, where she has been able to share her love of nursing with undergraduate students in a more formal educational role. Currently, Corinne holds a position with the Professional Practice Team, where she coordinates semester one students on their first practicum experience. In addition to this, Corinne has also been a tutor in Rural and Remote Health for several semesters, where she has been able to share her passion for rural nursing with future graduates. Additionally Corinne was integral in the 2013 Global Health Alliance Western Australia immersion to Tanzania, accompanying 12 nursing students on this educational and humbling practicum experience.
