Research expertise and supervision
Over the last year I have been involved in two research initiatives. The first, a spin off from my Masters by Research. The subject area was the use of online discussion forums. The results of my research were disemminated at an international conference. Secondly, I have been involved in a collaborative effort involving the other 4 major universities exploring perceptions about Men in Nursing. The result of this collaboration was the publication of a research report in conjunction with the WA Health, as well as a conference presentation. We currently have a research paper awaiting review with the Advanced Journal of Nursing and intend to continue with further papers. I have also completed ED6115 Supervising Postgraduate Research which will assist me in my pathway to becoming an expert research supervisor. I am currently co-supervising a Masters by Research student. Along with the commencement of my PhD I believe that I am in the next phase of professional development in the context of my research development.
