  • Biography

    Suzanne is a dedicated professional in the field of nursing. Graduating from Curtin University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, she has amassed over 25 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Her career has taken her across Australia and overseas, providing care to children and their families. With a strong passion for paediatrics and Aboriginal health, Suzanne recognizes the significance of establishing positive relationships with families and delivering culturally appropriate care to achieve optimal health outcomes. She has worked in various regional health settings, including the Numbla Nunga Nursing Home (an Aboriginal Nursing Home in Derby), Port Hedland Regional Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and several tertiary hospitals in Perth, notably Princess Margaret Hospital. During her time in the United Kingdom, Suzanne worked as a paediatric nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health from South Bank University, London. Since 2014, Suzanne has been a valued member of The University of Notre Dame School of Nursing and Midwifery. Currently serving as a lecturer and coordinator of the Professional Practice Courses for second-year students, she is passionate about educating and shaping future nurses. Suzanne firmly believes in the importance of sharing knowledge and experiences within the nursing profession. She actively promotes the internationalization of the curriculum and has led nursing students on clinical immersion trips to Vietnam, fostering cross-cultural learning experiences. Suzanne also strives to collaborate with communities to develop sustainable healthcare programs from the ground up. Continuing her commitment to personal growth and professional development, Suzanne has set her sights on completing her Masters in Health Professional Education by the end of 2023. She remains dedicated to expanding her expertise and contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession.
