  • Biography

Daniel has a broad range of experience teaching Religious Education at both primary and secondary levels in Catholic and Independent Schools. His main focus is opening up the professional development of Religious Educators to advances in research made in Europe which are sometimes not as well known in the English-speaking world. These insights help pre-service teachers explore ways to offer a joyful and convinced witness to the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith, and to their experience of the benefits of its practices, using pedagogies appropriate for students in the modern classroom.

Daniel began his career as a physics and chemistry teacher at North Sydney Boys and Fort Street High schools and has always enjoyed teaching issues where Science and Religion intersect such as creation and the environment. Daniel’s PhD research looks at ways that the sacraments not only teach us about Christ but allow us to participate in a personal relationship with him, using the thought of Hans Urs von Balthasar regarding our creation in the image of God.
