This application form is for domestic long-term Kimberley and Pilbara residents seeking entry for the Doctor of Medicine at the Kimberley Centre for Remote Medical Training (KCRMT), Broome Campus only. Indigenous applicants can apply via the Indigenous Pathway application form. All other domestic applications must be submitted via GEMSAS.

Applicants must have resided in the Kimberley or Pilbara region for a minimum of 5 years consecutively or 10 years cumulatively, and meet the following entry requirements:

  • Proof of residency in the Kimberley/Pilbara region for at least 5 years consecutively or 10 years cumulatively
  • Completion of a minimum three-year full-time equivalent (FTE) undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 5.0 (Applicants who completed their undergraduate degree more than 10 years ago may be eligible if they have completed other eligible studies in the previous 10 years)
  • Successful interview

Education Background

As the Doctor of Medicine is a postgraduate degree, students must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree within the past ten years. Applicants who completed their undergraduate degree more than 10 years ago may be eligible if they have completed additional eligible study within the previous 10 years.

The Graduate Australian Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) has been developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) in conjunction with the Consortium of Graduate Medical Schools to assist in the selection of students to graduate-entry medical programs at participating schools. GAMSAT is designed to assess a student’s capacity to undertake high level intellectual studies in a demanding course.
