Ethical Leadership Mentoring program

Leading for a better world

The Ethical Leadership Mentoring program is carefully designed to nurture a future leader who is able to understand and act on the relationships between ethical awareness, personal integrity, and courage. The program also provides a dynamic, on-campus experience through which you can:

  • Gain greater understanding, confidence and familiarity with university through time spent on campus with university students and staff
  • Explore how future careers and study options can continue your leadership journey, particularly in the Faculty of Arts, Sciences, Law & Business
  • Identify and work towards your personal goals
  • Program details

The Ethical Leadership Mentoring program provides a suite of evidence-based ethical leadership skills based on:

    • An enhanced awareness of important and universally acknowledged ethical principles
    • Greater proficiency in the exercise of disciplined ethical reflection
    • Increased mastery of practical strategies that support ethical behaviour and leadership
    Program structure

The program runs over three days, with each day covering one module which develops a theme via a rich mix of workshops, excursions, and guest speakers.

    • Each theme is complemented by targeted mentoring by trained university students and individualised coaching provided by internationally accredited leadership coaches
    • The focus of mentors is on university familiarisation and the student experience
    • The coaching program (2 x 1 hours) is aimed specifically at identifying goals and strategies that will support you to reach your post-school aspirations

    Module 1: Thinking ethically
What is ethical thinking and how does it play out in the real world? This module explores some big ideas and useful tools that can help us think about problems differently and then apply that thinking to complex dilemmas in school, work, and life.

    Module 2: Behaving ethically
How can we analyse situations to ensure that we are applying ethical solutions and making the best decisions, especially when they have real consequences for other people? This module provides an easy-to-use scaffold for doing both.

    Module 3: Leading ethically
How can we apply what we know of ethical thinking and ethical behaviour to be the best leaders of ourselves and others? This module provides some practical strategies to guide participants in the ways of effective leadership.
