Withdrawal from University or Program

We understand that there may be instances where you feel you want to withdraw from your Program or the University. This can be for a number of reasons. Before you consider this option, we encourage you to read the information below that may offer you alternative avenues for success at University.

Important

Depending on the time of your request, an academic and/or financial penalty may apply. Please check Census and Academic Penalty Dates on Calendars and Timetables for the key dates for your course/s.

Did you know

The University offers a range of support services that include study support, intervention strategies, access & inclusion, counselling, financial assistance, careers counselling and mentoring.
You can speak to an officer from the Student Experience team confidentially to explore alternative options.

Your School may be able to assist you with exploring your options and with program or course advice.
You may be eligible to apply for a Leave of Absence which, if approved, will mean your studies are paused for a period of time. For further information, see Enrolment Changes or reach out to Student Admin.
If you withdraw from the University, you will have to re-apply for admission if you wish to return at a later stage.
