The Board of Directors of the University of Notre Dame Australia has approved the appointment of Emeritus Professor David Lloyd as Interim Vice Chancellor.
The appointment will commence on Monday 28 September 2026 and continue until the incoming Vice Chancellor commences in the role.
Professor David Lloyd brings more than 20 years’ senior executive and board experience across the higher education, public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He served as Vice Chancellor and President of the University of South Australia from 2013 to 2026 and was a founding Co-Vice Chancellor and President of Adelaide University from its establishment in 2024 through to its transition to operations in 2026.
Professor Lloyd’s higher education leadership also includes senior executive roles at Trinity College Dublin; and serving as Chair of Universities Australia and the South Australian Vice-Chancellors Committee.
The appointment of an Interim Vice Chancellor will ensure continuity of leadership for the University until the appointment of the new substantive Vice Chancellor is finalised.
