He was then appointed as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, before taking up roles at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre. He returned to New Zealand as the Dean of the University of Otago Medical School.
Professor Subramaniam‘s significant contributions in his professional capacity, are complimented by his work as internationally renowned researcher, co-chairing multicenter clinical oncology trials sponsored by the USA National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health and the Canadian Institute of Health Research.
