The University of Notre Dame Australia has celebrated the blessing of the new home for Nursing at the Broadway campus in Sydney.
The new Nursing facilities are part of Notre Dame’s ongoing commitment to fostering an integrative educational community that is at the heart of campus life, connecting students to the student hub, University library and other essential resources.
It is a dynamic student space, providing exceptional resources to provide advanced nursing education. From modern tutorial spaces and breakout rooms, the new space is built for interactive learning, as well as self-directed and group study.
The teaching and learning spaces also feature advanced simulation laboratories that replicate real-life clinical situations, allowing students to develop practical skills in a realistic environment.
Deputy Head of School (Acting), Michelle De Leon said the new facilities have provided students with a range of spaces to engage in all aspects of their course.
“The amenities and resources available to students at Myrtle Street has allowed students to engage more deeply with their courses and study in a collaborative environment that is connected to University life,” she said.
Nursing Society President, and event MC, Felicity Teirney, said it is exciting to see the University continue to invest in spaces that will support students’ learning and development.
"We were delighted to celebrate this important milestone and look forward to the positive impact these facilities will have on generations of nursing students to come," she said.
The new teaching and learning space was blessed by Bishop Emeritus Terry Brady at an event that brought together staff and students to celebrate this significant milestone.
