Notre Dame expands Broadway Campus with new Mountain Street acquisition

05 January 2026

The University of Notre Dame Australia is excited to announce the expansion of the Broadway campus by the lease acquisition of 4000 square meters of accommodation at Mountain Street, Ultimo on the Broadway Campus.

This strategic acquisition adds 4000 square metres over three floors to support the University’s student growth and will be the new home for our Health Sciences programs in Sydney.

This new facility is in addition to the acquisition of 140 Myrtle Street which is to become the new home for Nursing and Midwifery. The new facilities are currently subject to major refurbishment and will be ready in Semester 1 2026, paving the way for further expansions at our Darlinghurst Campus. The new facility at Mountain Street will deliver state of the art facilities, including specialist labs, general teaching, gymnasium and student amenities.

These strategic acquisitions support the University Sydney Masterplan, which includes integration of the Blackfriars Precinct, which was acquired in 2024 from UTS, with future plans to develop a new 6000 square metre learning and teaching building on the site and broader campus integration.

This acquisition reflects our commitment to delivering world-class education in high-demand sectors such as Health and Education and enhance the student experience. By continuing to expand our footprint in Sydney, we are creating spaces that foster innovation, collaboration and excellence for our students and staff.

This expansion aligns with Notre Dame’s Strategic Plan, reinforcing its mission to prepare graduates for diverse contexts, including rural and remote communities, First Nations engagement and addressing chronic workforce shortages in health sectors.
