The University of Notre Dame Australia has expanded its education offering in Western Sydney with the official opening of the new Auburn Study Centre for Semester 2 2026.
The new Centre will increase access to higher education for students in Western Sydney, offering a blended delivery of six undergraduate courses and two tertiary pathway programs.
Students studying degrees in Education, Law, Commerce, Health Sciences and Arts will be able to attend face-to-face classes both locally in Auburn and at Notre Dame’s Sydney campus on Broadway in Chippendale.
The Centre was officially opened by the Federal Minister for Education, and Member for Blaxland, Jason Clare MP.
Speaking at the opening, Mr Clare said he was proud Notre Dame had chosen his local community as a place to grow and help develop the next generation.
“There are more people starting a university degree this year than ever and part of it is more and more jobs require the skills – whether you want to become a lawyer, a doctor or schoolteacher or nurse or work in the allied health sector,” he said.
“Having a TAFE qualification or a university degree is going to become a bigger deal and that means we need more places like this.
“Notre Dame understand that we belong at University and I am proud that it has chosen our local community as a place to grow and help to grow the next generation of extraordinary students.”
The Centre features modern teaching and learning spaces, student common areas and dedicated quiet study zones. Students also have access to Notre Dame’s full range of study and support services.
The Auburn Study Centre offers students in Western Sydney the opportunity to study closer to home and complements Notre Dame's existing presence in the region, joining the Auburn Clinical School which has been integral to the University's Doctor of Medicine program for more than a decade.
The opening was attended by students, school leaders and principals from Trinity Catholic College Auburn and Auburn Girls High School who were given the opportunity to engage with the Minister and learn more about the higher education pathways available through Notre Dame.
