The University of Notre Dame Australia’s mixed touch football and women’s netball teams secured bronze medals at the 2024 UniSport Nationals held recently in Canberra. With over 6,000 students from 42 member Universities competing across 30 different sports, Notre Dame students participated in women’s hockey, mixed netball, men's & women’s basketball and fencing at this year’s games.
Professor Selma Alliex, Pro Vice Chancellor, Student Experience expressed her congratulations on the efforts of the Notre Dame student representatives on behalf of the University and the Student Life team.
‘It was with great pride that we watched our students' dedication translate to enthusiasm, success and good sportsmanship in Canberra last week,” Prof. Alliex said.
“Our congratulations go not only to the Notre Dame mixed touch football and women’s netball teams who won a medal, but to every individual who gave their time and dedicated themselves to representing our University.
“We are especially proud of how our combined Fremantle and Sydney teams, who had not played together before the Nationals, competed so successfully during competition week. Our thanks also to our Sports Officers who through their dedication demonstrated their commitment to making our students successful at the games”
