  • Biography

    Elissa is an early career researcher who was recently awarded a Collaborative Research Network (CRN) funded part-time Research Fellowship position at the IHR with Associate Professor Anne-Marie Hill and Prof Jim Codde.

    Her research focuses on using physical activity to help older people to live independently for as long as they choose. She has also recently completed a project assisting carers of people with Dementia and has been looking at the benefits and barriers to older people participating in strength training. She has also completed a number of studies on falls prevention with home care clients.

    Elissa has published 19 peer reviewed articles and has almost $750,000 in grant funding. She is currently supervising two Honours students and one PhD student.
