Research activities
Our research in IHR is closely linked to the University’s Transformative Research Theme Exceptional Care, research that advances care for all, especially vulnerable groups.
Research programs

Our research aims to support and enhance the physical, psychological and spiritual well-being of older individuals as they approach the end of their lives.
Research areas:
- Palliative Care
- Delirium
- Ageing and aged care
- Clinical pharmacology
Research projects
Staff and researchers within the Institute for Health Research are involved in a lot of studies as evidenced by the extensive list of publications. While many of these publication are due to collaborative research being undertaken elsewhere, many other projects are driven by supervision of research students undertaking their Master’s or PhD studies or projects being lead by the IHR team.
