Biography
Ms Maria Luciana Perez Armendariz is a PhD candidate, supervised by A/Prof Myles Murphy and Prof Sophia Nimphius, investigating movement variability, joint loading, and tendon health in elite basketball players in the National Basketball League (NBL) of Australia and New Zealand. Currently embedded as sport scientist with the Perth Wildcats (NBL), her research focuses on the longitudinal monitoring of patellar tendinopathy in high-performance settings, with a particular interest in how biomechanical factors and workload interact to drive tendon injury risk. Luciana holds a Master's degree in Strength and Conditioning and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), bringing both academic rigour and applied expertise to her work in elite sport environments. She has worked across many sports and countries.
