Biography
Matthew has worked as an applied statistician in health since graduating from UWA in 2024. He completed his PhD on the modifiable areal unit problem in geography through UWA in 2022 while working with the Collaborative for Healthcare Analysis and Statistical Modelling in the UWA Medical School. In 2022 he joined the Home2Health research team, now based within the IHR at UNDA. He is a practicing Catholic and is devoted to his faith and his family.

Research expertise and supervision
Matthew's research interests include various topics in health, public health, spatial epidemiology, tobacco and e-cigarette control, and homelessness. He has published multiple peer-review articles and technical reports and has reviewed articles for several international journals. He has supervised three third-year statistics practicum students and one medical student to completion (UWA) and is currently supervising one HDR student (UNDA).
