Dr Rachel A Kornhaber

  • Biography

    Rachel is a Registered Nurse based in Sydney with a strong background in burns and trauma informed care. Rachel was previously a clinician at the Royal North Shore Hospital, Severe Burns Injury Unit for 13 years. Rachel’s PhD was through the University of Adelaide and investigated burn survivors’ experiences of rehabilitation and the challenges with access to rehabilitation services.

    She is currently appointed as a lecturer at the University of Tasmania, Rozelle campus based in Sydney but also a Research Fellow with the National Burns Unit at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel. Rachel has been developing a burns and mental health portfolio with international collaborations.

    Rachel joined the IHR to enable greater collaboration between her own research and that being undertaken with the Burn Injury Research Node being led by A/Prof Dale Edgar at the University of Notre Dame.
