  • Biography

    Matthew has worked as an applied statistician in health since graduating from the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2014. He completed his PhD on the modifiable areal unit problem in geography through UWA in 2022 while working with the Collaborative for Healthcare Analysis and Statistical Modelling (CHASM) in the UWA Medical School, funded by the WA Department of Health to provide high-level statistical advice on health and related topics. In 2022 he joined the Home2Health research team at the School of Population and Global Health (SPGH) at UWA, which later moved to the IHR at UNDA in 2022. His research interests include various topics in applied statistics, public health, spatial epidemiology, disease mapping, homelessness, tobacco and e-cigarette product control, coding in R and visualisation of health data.
