  • Biography

    Barbara is a Noongar yok (woman) whose passion is to educate the broader community to the richness and diversity of Aboriginal Australian culture, heritage, and people through development of her research and in her professional capacity in her work as an Anthropologist. Barbara work's with Noongar women and offers a platform for women to have a voice about their notion of their culture, narrated in their voice, and place in a modern context for those living with modernity. Barbara's aim is to study cultural change in the modern context and what that means for Noongar women today who live in the urban environment.

    Barbara has completed her Dr of Philosophy and is a Research Scholar with Nulungu Research Institute. As well as her research for her Doctorate, Barbara has been researching and writing publications for corporate entities.

    Barbara is an early career researcher.

    ARC Research Grant - Nulunugu Research Institute, University of Notre Dame

    Living Cultures Living Country Living Water Exhibition - Barbara is the Curator for this exhibition and is the post graduate research assistant with the project team. This project is currently active and will produce an exhibition to be displayed at Boola Bardip, the Western Australian Museum, and is scheduled for November 2025.
