For Bachelor of Law / Bachelor of Arts student Justine, taking part in Notre Dame’s Experience the World program allowed her to explore her passion for social justice in a unique way.

“The opportunity to attend World Youth Day in Rio and do some mission work in South America was an opportunity I wasn’t willing to pass up,” says Justine.

Though the experience was at times emotionally and physically challenging, Justine said both the personal and cultural insight she gained was invaluable.

“I think it’s incredibly important to take yourself out of your comfort zone and experience the culture and life styles of others. It teaches you a lot about yourself but also makes you a more informed member of the global community.”
