Okta Verify Personal Device

If you want to install Okta Verify on your personal device, follow the steps below according to your device type.

To configure Okta Verify on your mobile device, follow the Account activation and MFA instructions and complete the setup process.

If you have already set up Okta Verify on your mobile device and wish to connect using only your personal computer, please follow the steps to install Okta Verify on both your mobile device and personal computer before removing the app from your mobile device.

  • Apple set-up guide

    Please ensure you have Touch ID active before completing the steps below. Find instructions for Touch ID from Apple support.

    1. Download the Okta Verify desktop app and follow the instructions to install
    2. Open the app and select 'Add account from another device.'
    3. Open Okta Verify on your mobile device and select 'Add account to another device.'
    4. Note down the 8-digit code displayed in the mobile app and enter it on your personal computer.
    5. Once successful, a confirmation code displays on your personal computer
    6. Enter the code on your mobile app to complete the verification process.
    7. If prompted, enable Touch ID to complete the setup.
  • Windows set-up guide

    Please ensure you have Windows Hello active before completing the steps below. Find instructions for Windows Hello from Microsoft Support.

    1. Download the Okta Verify desktop app and follow the instructions to install
    2. Open the app and select 'Add account from another device.'
    3. Open Okta Verify on your mobile device and select 'Add account to another device.'
    4. Note down the 8-digit code displayed in the mobile app and enter it on your personal computer.
    5. Once successful, a confirmation code displays on your personal computer
    6. Enter the code on your mobile app to complete the verification process.
    7. If prompted, enable Windows Hello to complete the setup.

Follow the step-by-step instructions to guide you through using Okta Verify on your personal computer if you do not have a mobile device.  Please note that having administrator rights on your personal computer is required.

    1. Download the Okta Verify desktop app and follow the instructions to install
    2. Open the app, select 'Get Started', and click 'Next'
    3. Enter 'signin.nd.edu.au' in the field under New account and click 'Next'.
    4. Enter your Notre Dame email and password. i.e. studentnumber@nd.edu.au in the new browser window
    5. Complete the setup by authenticating with Touch ID when prompted.
