Preparing for life at Notre Dame

Finding a place to live

Before you arrive at Notre Dame, it's essential to secure your accommodation. There are a range of options depending on your campus and needs. Whether you're looking for short-term or long-term housing, there are options available so that you can find safe, affordable and convenient accommodation that fits your lifestyle and budget. Learn about accommodation options around campus.

Preparing for the start of uni

Starting university is an exciting new chapter and being prepared can make all the difference. To help you hit the ground running, we've put together our Uni Success Guide and Get Set Checklist. These resources are designed to give you the practical information you need, from academic tips to navigating campus life.

Getting around the city

Public transport is a convenient and affordable way to get around. In Sydney, you can apply for an Opal concession card to access discounted fares on trains, buses, ferries and light rail. In Fremantle, Transperth provides student concessions through the Tertiary SmartRider card, offering discounts on trains and buses. You can apply for these cards before moving, so you're ready to travel as soon as the semester begins!

Scholarships and financial support

Notre Dame offers equity scholarships to support students from regional, rural, and remote areas, including the national Get Set Grant. Additional financial support may be available through government and external scholarships, learn more about financial assistance.

Student discounts

As a student, you can take advantage of discounts through websites like Student Beans, My Uni Days and Student Edge. These platforms offer a wide range of deals on everything from fashion and tech to food and travel. Signing up is free and easy – just verify your student status to unlock exclusive offers. These resources can help you save on everyday purchases and make your budget go further while studying.

Regional Student Hubs

If you’re studying from your hometown rather than a campus, you might like to study at one of the many Regional University Study Hubs. These hubs give you a great study space with computer access and administrative and academic support services, making it easier to stay on top of your classes and assignments. You’ll also get the chance to meet other students, join study sessions and tap into extra help, like tutoring and workshops. A Study Hub can make your uni experience feel more connected and structured, even if you're miles away from the main campus.
