More than a uni. A pathway to your future.

Pathways & Support

Whatever your background, there is a path to a Notre Dame degree.

Your journey. Your pathway.

There's no single path to a Notre Dame degree. We've designed multiple entry options to meet you where you are.

Experience based entry TAFE entry & credit recognition Adjustment factors Tertiary Pathway Program (TPP) UniPath

Experience based entry

Work and life experience count

Have you worked for 2+ years? You may be eligible to apply on your experience alone. We assess your readiness based on your educational achievements, work experience, and life experience — all considered holistically.

What's considered

  • Educational achievements (ATAR, TAFE, VET, university)
  • Work experience — professional and casual
  • Life experience — volunteering, military, sporting achievements
  • Available for Bachelor of Commerce, Arts, Communications, Science & more

Eligibility

Applicants who have been out of school for 2 or more years and can demonstrate relevant work or life experience. No minimum ATAR is required — your whole background is considered.

TAFE entry & credit recognition

Your TAFE study opens doors

Completed a TAFE qualification? Notre Dame offers recognition of your prior learning, which can mean advanced standing into your undergraduate degree — saving you time and money.

What's considered

  • Credit recognition for completed VET qualifications
  • Advanced standing may be available
  • Pathway into a range of undergraduate programs
  • Both full and partial qualifications considered

Eligibility

Students who have completed a Certificate III, IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma from a registered training organisation. Both full and partial completions may be considered.

Adjustment factors

Get extra points towards your entry

Notre Dame applies adjustment factors to students applying via ATAR that can boost your selection rank. These recognise the challenges some students face and reward your resilience — giving you a fairer chance at entry.

What's considered

  • Location-based adjustments
  • Educational Access Scheme (EAS)
  • School-based adjustments
  • Combined with your ATAR to strengthen your application

Eligibility

Current Year 12 students or recent school leavers who meet one or more adjustment factor criteria — including rural or remote location, school-based disadvantage, or other personal circumstances.

Tertiary Pathway Progream (TPP)

A bridge into undergraduate study

The TPP is a free semester-long program that prepares you for entry into many of our undergraduate degrees. Ideal for mature-age students, school leavers wanting a refresher, or international students.

What's considered

  • Free for Australian and NZ citizens and permanent residents
  • Offered at Fremantle, Sydney and Broome campuses
  • Pathways into Arts, Business, Education, Health Sciences & more
  • Not a pathway for Law, Medicine or Physiotherapy

Eligibility

Open to domestic students who do not meet standard entry requirements, mature-age applicants, and international students. No ATAR required. The program runs for one semester full-time.

UniPath

Begin university while still in high school

UniPath lets you study at Notre Dame while completing Year 11 or 12. Gain university credit, develop academic skills, and secure an offer into many undergraduate degree programs upon successful completion.

What's considered

  • Study on campus or at satellite sites
  • Develops research, writing, maths and communication skills
  • Available in Fremantle, Sydney (Broadway, Oran Park, Auburn) and Broome
  • General and Health Streams available

Eligibility

Current Year 11 or Year 12 students at participating high schools. Students must have school principal endorsement and meet basic academic criteria. Available in General and Health streams.
