"This program allows me to gain a better understanding of the history of Aboriginal people and the issues they face," says Rebecca, who is studying a Graduate Certificate in Aboriginal Studies.

Rebecca is currently working in the community as a case manager and decided to pursue postgraduate studies in Broome to gain first-hand experience.

"As a case manager of young indigenous people I help to provide accommodation, find education and employment opportunities and build life skills," she says.

"As a result of my studies I'm now able to look at things more holistically when making decisions and when interacting with different cultures."

"Everyone is so friendly. My tutor is so easy to talk to. She's approachable and always willing to help to see me succeed. I couldn't ask for a better tutor."

"This is like no other university I've ever been to. It's a calm, tranquil environment, you don't feel overwhelmed. "
