  • Biography

Anisah is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education, Fremantle campus. She is the Coordinator of Bachelor of Education (Primary) program and the National Coordinator of international students. She is a WA-trained Secondary teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience in local and international schools and in the tertiary sector. Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2021, Anisah worked at the School of Education at Murdoch University and Curtin University where she developed and taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Anisah is interested in international education, given her experience as a middle school English teacher at an IB-accredited school in Singapore. This led her to examine the issue of equity and the merits of adopting IB programmes delivered in an Australian context in her doctoral thesis, which she successfully completed in 2020 at Murdoch University.

She currently coordinates and teaches the postgraduate suite of IB courses and coordinates a postgraduate Secondary course: Contemporary Issues in Secondary Schools. She supervises five HDR students who are completing their EdD/PhD and is the principal supervisor for two of these students.

Additionally, Anisah has co-authored and published articles in internationally recognised educational journals related to the benefits and challenges of teaching and learning in IB schools. These publications can be viewed via this link: https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4063-4457

Anisah is an active researcher and is extending her research interests in the areas of the International Baccalaureate, curriculum, pedagogy and student/teacher well-being.
