Notre Dame Tax Clinic
The University of Notre Dame Tax Clinic (NDTC) has officially launched in the Kimberley region.
NDTC provides free, professional tax assistance to individuals and small businesses who may not otherwise have access. The Clinic (NDTC) aims to identify ways to improve services, education programs and advocacy for clients within the northwest of Western Australia.
The clinic operates under the Australian Government’s National Tax Clinic program, an initiative designed to improve access to tax assistance for individuals, small businesses in financial hardship, and other vulnerable groups across Australia.
Assistance is available to eligible individuals and small businesses who meet the below criteria
- Unable to access tax assistance in managing their tax affairs due to economic, social or personal factors.
- Not represented by a tax professional.
Our services
- Assistance regarding tax matters
- Understanding MyGov
- Applying for a Tax File Number
- GST and BAS related matters
- Understanding PAYG
- Completing tax return lodgements
- Assisting with deductions, tax debt and negotiating payment plans
- Tax Law and individual rights
Services are delivered by School of Law and Business taxation students, under the supervision of a qualified and experienced tax practitioner. This model provides students with valuable real-world experience while delivering meaningful support to the community. Services will be hosted in a number of hubs around the Kimberley region over the next three years.
