About the role
You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Clinical Years with the consistent delivery of the Clinical Years in the Sydney Doctor of Medicine program.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports with the consistent delivery of curriculum and assessment.
- Supports to facilitate clinical schools’ participation in evaluation and ongoing improvement of curriculum.
- Provides support to manage the day-to-day operational matters of the Clinical Schools, including:
- Academic and administrative staff matters including adjunct appointments.
- Negotiating contracts, memoranda of understanding and agreements as required.
- Stakeholder consultation and liaison.
- Negotiating and coordinating clinical placements.
- Contribute to the professional development of other staff,
- Assists with managing the student allocation to clinical schools for Years 3 and 4 with the Head of Clinical Years and Clinical Placements Coordinator and also elective learning period placements.
- Provide support in student matters, pastoral care and monitoring academic progress; and facilitating student access to university services in conjunction with Student Matters Coordinator.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Hold an MD or equivalent medical qualification and registration with AHPRA
- Fellowship of a relevant professional body, or completion of a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
- Demonstrated experience in medical education and clinical practice
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to provide high level pastoral care to students.
- Understanding of, and commitment to, teaching in the context of the Code of Ethical Standards for Catholic Health and Aged Care Services in Australia
- Ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
- Computer literacy with standard office programs and use of relevant digital technology.
