Volunteering opportunities for Notre Dame Alumni
When you share your time and expertise, you enrich the lives of everyone at the University – and the experience gives you so much back.
There are many ways you can volunteer, from organising a class reunion, sharing your story and talents at alumni events, mentoring a student or becoming an alumni leader in your region or country.
Nursing alumni research survey - participants required
Practicing nurses in the first 24 months of their professional career are invited to participate in a study related to clinical staff nurses’ leadership behaviours.
Participating in this study is voluntary and all answers are anonymous and held in confidence. This is a multi-national study. Alumni from the three Nursing Schools below are being invited to participate:
- The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus
- Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT, USA
- Institute of Technology, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland
Participation in this study involves completion of this survey that will take less than 7 minutes and constitutes your consent to participate.

Data will be used to identify baseline nursing leadership behaviors for clinical staff nurses that are different than nurse administrators. A comparison among the three countries will also be sought. Identification of these fundamental behaviors can be instrumental in reshaping leadership curriculum in undergraduate baccalaureate nursing programs and identifying baseline leadership competencies on the global level.
For any questions about the study please contact Associate Professor Karen Clark-Burg via email or phone (08) 9433 0278.
