  • The Aboriginal Health Tertiary Access and Support Program Scholarships

    Value: $5,000 plus $1,500 for material support and resources

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide support for Aboriginal students to access and attain tertiary qualifications in health related disciplines offered within the following Schools:

    a. School of Health Sciences;
    b. School of Medicine;
    c. School of Nursing and Midwifery; or
    d. School of Physiotherapy.

  • The Beasley Family Scholarship in Medicine and Nursing

    Value: $5,000

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist and encourage Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in the School of Medicine or the School of Nursing & Midwifery at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must:

    a. Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and state that he/she identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and is recognised by his/her community as a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent;
    b. Be enrolled in the School of Medicine or the School of Nursing & Midwifery at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus; and
    c. Be able to demonstrate that their educational opportunities are limited due to adverse circumstances.

  • The Cancer Detection Centre for Women Research Scholarship

    The purpose of this Scholarship is to encourage and support medical research training in the area of women’s health, and provide financial support to postgraduate students with exceptional research promise to pursue a career in medical research. The term of this research scholarship is up to two years for Master by Research recipients and three years for Doctor of Philosophy recipients. Where students are enrolled part time, the value of the award will be half that of the standard full-time rate.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

    a. Be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia;
    b. Be enrolled (full time or part-time) in a postgraduate program in the School of Medicine at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus;
    c. Not be in receipt of any other scholarship or research financial support (RTP stipends excluded); and
    d. Be conducting research or training for research in one of the areas listed in the Scholarship Conditions.

    Value: $5,000

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist and encourage a student, for whom educational opportunities are limited because of financial or personal hardship. The Scholarship is limited to students enrolled in the School of Health Sciences; School of Medicine; School of Nursing and Midwifery; or School of Physiotherapy.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

    a. Be enrolled as a full-time student at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle  in one of the above listed schools; and
    b. Be able to demonstrate that their educational opportunities are limited due to adverse circumstances as set out in the Selection Criteria.

  • The Frank Reedy Scholarship in Medicine

    Value: $9,000

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist and encourage female students from rural Western Australia who wish to commence their studies with the School of Medicine at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

    a. Have enrolled as a first year full time student in the School of Medicine, Fremantle;
    b. Be a female student; and
    c. Meet the criteria to be considered a rural student. Rural background is defined as residency for 5 years consecutively or 10 years cumulatively in an ASGS-RA 2-5 area.

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist a medical student with the cost of attending a research conference to present their research paper.

    To be eligible for consideration applicants must:

    a. Be enrolled in a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and undertaking an approved final year research project at the School of Medicine, Fremantle, or be enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research attached to the School of Medicine, Fremantle;
    b. Be in receipt of all necessary Human Research Ethics Committee approvals relating to the research project; and
    c. Have been accepted to present the findings of their research project at a national or international conference.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

  • The Woss Family Scholarships in Medicine

    Value: $7,500 (Up to 4 Scholarships)

    The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist and encourage meritorious medical students for whom educational opportunities are limited, for example, because of financial need, distance, or responsibility for others, such as the ill or elderly. Up to four full scholarships may be awarded annually. In some years, however, half scholarships may also be awarded.

    To be eligible for the Scholarship applicants must:

    a. Be enrolled full-time as a second year, third year or fourth year student in the School of Medicine, Fremantle; and
    b. Demonstrate drive and commitment to achieve academically, despite financial hardship or other personal difficulty;
    c. Demonstrate that their educational opportunities are limited due to adverse circumstances such as distance, financial need, disability or responsibility for the care of the ill or the elderly; and
    d. Demonstrate how the award of the Scholarship would assist them in addressing the limitations referred to above.

    Applicants who can demonstrate they assist others who are either ill or disadvantaged, and/or participate in community service volunteer programs, should set out such details fully. Personal commitment to others will be advantageous in determining successful Scholarship recipients.
