Practicum Support for Students
Undertaking a compulsory practicum placement can present financial challenges - especially when it is unpaid. To help ease this burden, several support options are available to eligible students at The University of Notre Dame Australia.
Commonwealth Prac Payment
The Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) is an Australian Government initiative to support students in specific programs undertaking unpaid, mandatory placements. If you're eligible, you’ll receive a weekly payment for the duration of your placement - helping you stay focused on learning.
Practicum Support Scheme
The Notre Dame Practicum Support Scheme (PSS) is available to all students undertaking a full-time compulsory practicum as part of their program. Established to assist students experiencing financial hardship or who are unable to work whilst completing a compulsory practicum placement.
Student Hardship Assistance Fund
While practicum-related costs are generally not eligible for support through the Student Hardship Assistance Fund, students who experience unforeseen hardship during placement may still qualify for emergency assistance. This fund provides one-off support of up to $1,000 for short-term financial relief for students facing unexpected challenges.
