Graduate Certificate in Religious Education

Designed to be completed in six months of full-time study, our Graduate Certificate in Religious Education is a special program designed for qualified teachers who wish to upgrade their religious education skills and qualifications. Tuition is delivered via a series of face-to-face classes and online. You will be required to complete two compulsory courses in Theology and Religious Education and two electives from a wide range of courses.

Upon the successful completion of this program you can apply for a Master of Education (Religious Education).

    Using a combination of face-to-face classes and online tuition, this program covers topics such as Christology, the Mystery of Christ, Church and Sacraments and Critical Issues in Religious Education. You will be expected to attend our Fremantle Campus for 26 hours each week during the program, while the online classes can be completed in four hours per week.

    You may commence their studies in the Summer Term (January), in Semester 1 (February) or April Intensive, in Winter Term (July), in Semester 2 (July) or October Intensive, subject to course availability.

    Applicants must:

    • Hold the equivalent of a four year teaching qualification;
    • Have a GPA of at least 2.5 or higher; and
    • Have at least three years of professional experience.
