Rhythm Strip and 12 Lead ECG Interpretation

Are you a Health Professional looking to refresh and develop your skills?

Description

The course provides participants with workshopping of basic and intermediate principles of rhythm strip and 12 lead ECG interpretation. The course will briefly review cardiac anatomy and physiology with a focus on the cardiac conduction system. The six-step approach will be applied to various rhythms with the pathophysiology, causes and management of arrhythmias discussed. Practical skills such as direct current cardioversion and transcutaneous pacing will be workshopped (via tabletop scenarios and demonstration. The course will also cover 12 lead ECG analysis including a review of acute coronary syndromes pathophysiology and scenario-based learning will be used to identify, assess, and manage patients experiencing various acute coronary syndromes.

The course consists of an eight-hour, online workshop. The course does not contain any mandatory pre-course activities however, revision materials for foundation concepts can be provided for those with limited experience with cardiac monitoring or needing a refresher. Online meeting details and the workshop workbook will be emailed to participants approximately two weeks prior to the course date.

This course is suitable for any healthcare professionals who perform cardiac monitoring in any setting and would like to develop their confidence in interpreting rhythm strips and 12 lead ECGs (nurses, midwives, doctors, paramedics, worksite medics, healthcare students)
