The Masters by Research is a postgraduate research degree comprising a substantial research component culminating in the submission of a thesis.
Master of Philosophy – Various Disciplines
The Master of Philosophy is a postgraduate research degree comprising both coursework (1/3 of degree; 0.5 year full-time study) and a substantial research component (2/3 of degree; 1 year full-time study) culminating in the submission of a thesis.
Each candidate will be assigned supervisors who will provide support and academic guidance throughout the coursework and research components of the degree. The research supervisors will assist the candidate with the early preparation of their research proposal as part of the coursework unit - 'Developing a Research Proposal'. The research supervisors will continue to mentor and direct the candidate throughout the research phase until the thesis is examined.

Master of Medicine/Surgery The Master of Medicine/Surgery is a postgraduate research degree aimed at clinical professionals with a medical degree and an interest in research.
The HDR provides research training through course work (1/3 of degree; online study opportunities offered) and a research component (2/3 of the degree), and is completed with a thesis or research dissertation. The estimated full-time course duration is 1.5 year, but part-time study is also available.
Each candidate will be assigned supervisors, including a University-based supervisor who will provide support and academic guidance throughout the coursework and research components of the degree.
