1.3.6 Creative commons
A Creative Commons licence is a slightly different form of copyright. It means that creators have allowed a greater range of use for their material for non-commercial purposes than might normally apply.
When you look at something that has a Creative Commons licence, you might notice some extra symbols. These symbols define the terms of use and restrictions that apply. It is important to know what these symbols mean for copyright.
Click on each of the symbols below to see what they mean. The information has been sourced from http://creativecommons.org.au/learn/licences.

Creative Commons
This symbol means 'Creative Commons' (CC). The standard permissions granted by a CC licence allows "the material to be copied, distributed, displayed and performed" so long as "the author of the work is attributed" (Creative Commons Australia: About the Licences).
