Applying for an exchange program

  • 1. Check eligibility

Before you apply, it’s important to know whether you’re recognised as a Study Abroad student or Exchange student.

    • Exchange students come to Notre Dame as a nominated student via an established exchange agreement between their home university and Notre Dame and pay their tuition fees to their home university.
    • Study Abroad students pay Notre Dame’s tuition fee for the semester or year they wish to study with us. Unlike Exchange students, Study Abroad students can come either via an established study abroad partner university, directly or via one of our approved agents.
    • Must be in good academic standing.
    • Must have completed at least one year of study prior to your semester abroad at Notre Dame.
    • Meet our English Language Proficiency requirements.

If you are unsure which student you are, we recommend you speak with your home university’s International or Study Abroad Office.

  • 2. Plan your study program

Unless otherwise specified, courses (subjects/modules/units) are worth 25 points each. To be considered a full-time student at Notre Dame and meet your Australian Government student visa conditions, you must enrol in 75 to 100 points (3 or 4 courses).

You can take advantage of the flexible study options to maximise your semester in Australia. To start exploring your course options, visit our Study Abroad Course Listing.

    Semester dates are as follows:
