-
Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
Yes. You can apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. However, some scholarships cannot be held concurrently, so check the conditions of each scholarship carefully.
If you are selected for more than one scholarship, the Scholarships team will check whether the scholarships can be held concurrently. If they cannot, you will be offered the scholarship with the higher value.
-
Am I eligible to apply for a scholarship?
Eligibility varies between scholarships. Scholarships may be available based on your circumstances, achievements, course, background, location or other criteria.
Some scholarships are available to commencing students, while others are specifically for current Notre Dame students. If you have not yet applied to Notre Dame, you can still apply for a scholarship - you just need to receive and accept an offer to study before a scholarship can be awarded or paid.
Always check the individual scholarship conditions before applying. If you are unsure whether you meet a particular requirement, contact the Scholarships team before submitting your application.
-
What documents should I include in my application?
Check the individual scholarship requirements for any documents you must provide. You are also encouraged to include any relevant supporting evidence that demonstrates the circumstances, experiences or achievements described in your application.
Providing relevant evidence can strengthen your application by helping the assessment panel understand and verify the information you have provided.
See Applying for a scholarship for examples of supporting documents and application advice.
-
Are late applications accepted?
No. Applications must be submitted by the advertised closing date and time. Late applications cannot be accepted.
We recommend applying early to allow enough time to complete your application and gather supporting documents.
-
How are scholarship recipients selected?
Eligible applications are assessed against the published eligibility and selection criteria for the scholarship. Where there are more eligible applicants than scholarships available, applications are assessed comparatively against the relevant selection criteria.
See Assessment and selection for more information about how scholarships are assessed.
-
When will I receive my application outcome?
You will receive your scholarship outcome by email.
Assessment timeframes vary depending on the number of applications received, the complexity of the scholarship and any additional verification or selection requirements involved.
We aim to notify applicants as soon as practicable, but some outcomes may take time after the application closing date.
-
How will I receive my scholarship?
Scholarships may be provided as a cash payment or fee remission, depending on the scholarship. Your offer will explain how your scholarship will be paid.
For questions about tuition fees, fee remission or your student account, contact the Student Fees Office.
-
What happens if my circumstances change?
Contact the Scholarships team as soon as possible if your circumstances change in a way that may affect your scholarship eligibility.
This may include changes to your course, enrolment, academic circumstances, personal circumstances or other scholarship conditions.
See Managing your scholarship for more information.
-
Will my scholarship affect my tax or Centrelink payments?
Scholarships may have tax or Centrelink implications depending on the type of scholarship and your individual circumstances.
The Scholarships team can provide information about your scholarship but cannot provide personal tax or Centrelink advice. For advice about your individual circumstances, refer to the Australian Taxation Office or Services Australia, or seek advice from a qualified professional.
