The Long Tan Bursary is funded by the Australian Government Department of Veterans Affairs. Scholarship Description:
The purpose of this Scholarship is to assist School leavers and career changers who enrol in initial teacher education (ITE) programs commencing from 2024, who may be eligible for up to $40,000 from the Australian Government. The Scholarship aims to attract more high quality candidates into teaching by supporting new undergraduate and postgraduate ITE students to meet the costs of their study, in exchange for teaching in government schools or government-run early learning settings for a time equivalent to the length of their ITE program. Up to 1,000 scholarships per year will be offered over five years, commencing in 2024.

In 2011, with support from the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust, the Scholarships also became available for study at the University of Cambridge. The Roberta Sykes Indigenous Education Foundation provides supplementary financial assistance to Indigenous Postgraduate students who wish to undertake studies at any recognised overseas university.
